3)      CLAS Student Advisory Committee – Fred

Many thanks to the faculty--so far all in the Humanities--who have nominated students to serve on the CLAS Student Advisory Board.  I strongly encourage faculty in the Arts, Sciences, and Social Sciences to put forth students who can bring a breadth of perspective and experience to the Student Advisory Board.  ~Fred

4)      Boren Scholarships – Message from Jeff Chamberlain, Director of Honor’s College

We just received word that a representative from the Institute of International Education will be on campus to meet with students who are interested in applying for the Boren Scholarships on Wednesday, Sept. 3.  There will be a meeting for any interested faculty or staff in Padnos International Center at 1 pm that day, and a session for students who may be interested in applying in the same place at 2 pm.  Though it's early in the semester, please encourage students to attend the meeting.  The deadline for application is not until Jan. 29, but it may pique their interest.  The Boren Scholarships offer good money for language study abroad.
