  1. Business Reply Envelopes – message from Steve Leeser

Dear Mail Users,

I hope that you are enjoying the summer! Please be advised per the United States Postal Service (USPS), that the current design for Business Reply, Courtesy Reply envelopes, postcards and labels with preprinted bar codes are changing to include a new Intelligent Bar Code.  All envelopes, postcards & labels of the old design in circulation after January 2011 will become unmailable.  The bar code on the current design will no longer be readable by the USPS.  Please plan appropriately and use up your existing inventory as soon as possible. New BRM cards and envelopes will be designed at no cost by George Robinson - our USPS Mailpiece Design Analyst.   He is ready to produce the camera ready art for your new envelopes. Please refer to our web site for proper FOAP placement and unique BRM zip codes.  George's contact information is:

In mid July, the CLAS deans will be meeting with their counterparts from Grand Rapids Community College to discuss ways to improve the GVSU-GRCC interface. If you have any specific issues or problems you would like us to address, please e-mail these to Cindy by July 11.

  1. MyPath Update – Mary Schutten

Initial reports from Freshman orientation are that MyPath is well received by the new students and the faculty working the orientations also appreciate this software. Thank you to all the units who worked diligently to review their MyPath programs in order to help our newest students. With a growing transfer population and the positive reception, there is now a need to complete MyPath review for full implementation for all undergrads by the fall semester. The due dates from Sue and Jerry place completion of the task [task = full review of all 8 years of programs] by July 31 at the latest. Thank you for all your hard work for this project.
