1) General Education Workshop

Dear Colleagues:

Attached is a flyer describing a General Education workshop in August, funded by a Pew FTLC grant. Selected faculty from across the university will compare the GVSU General Education goals to the benchmark goals articulated in AAC&U Liberal Education and America's Promise (LEAP). GVSU is one of the signatory campuses for LEAP - "a ten-year campaign to champion the value of a liberal education-for individual students and for a nation dependent on economic creativity and democratic vitality."

Many of our General Education goals are identical to the LEAP goals. This is an opportunity for faculty to determine if additional goals are warranted as well how to best to achieve them at GVSU.

All faculty who have taught a General Education course in the last five years are encouraged to apply!
