1. CLAS Asks Seniors, “What’s Next?”

1400+ seniors about to graduate have been asked this week to share with us their future plans for the CLAS website. 85 responses have already been received, and we’d like your help to encourage your seniors to participate.

2. CLAS Student Advisory Board-call for members (attachment) – Mary Schutten

One of the college's advisory groups is the CLAS Student Advisory Board. This consists of 15 students who meet twice each semester for food and feedback to the Dean. If the membership by class rank were a canoe, we would capsize as 14/15 members are seniors. Do you have a name or two to suggest to participate in this board? Our desire is a broad representation from across the college. Attached is the current list of students. Please share names with Cindy Laug (laugc@gvsu.edu).

3. Unit alignment with CLAS strategic plan (link to template)

This is just a reminder that unit alignment with the CLAS strategic plan has a due date of August 15, 2011 to the CLAS Dean's Office (mailto:schutmar@gvsu.edu). Many units have taken advantage of Julie Guevara's offer to provide ideas on how to proceed. Thanks to those units who have already submitted their work.  Resources:  www.gvsu.edu/clas/for-unit-heads-51.htm#Strategic_Planning

4. End of the year stress- late withdrawal requests

Occasionally, students request to withdraw from courses at this time of year for a variety of reasons. For your information, a link to the "policy" is attached:
