2) CLAS Office Product Exchange
4) CLAS Sabbatical Showcase and Spring Celebration, April 18
1) New Procedures for graduation and teacher cert audits – Jerry Montag
Effective immediately, the Records office will be sending graduation and teacher certification audits by e-mail only. The e-mail will be sent to the department email address for distribution by the department to the appropriate advisor. For example – Chemistry will be sent to chemdept@gvsu.edu.
The student will receive a copy of the same e-mail. Advisors may respond by e-mail to the auditor initiating the request; that e-mail will be considered the official response (no electronic signature will be necessary). Please note any changes or updates on the response.
We hope that this change will make the processing of audits easier for all. Please contact me with any additional questions you may have. I may be reached at montagj@gvsu.edu

2) CLAS Office Product Exchange Event - May 6th in 308 PAD (attachment)
Some of you will be doing some major moving this summer and some just the normal shuffling, but as you are cleansing your offices we are offering the following opportunity to rid yourself of un-needed office supplies.
Here are a few details you will need to know:
· Bring items directly to 308 PAD on May 5 between 1 and 5 p.m. and lay them out on tables provided (careful not to damage the wood table, use leather pads)
· Leave boxes when possible- we will use them to re-box items or shoppers will use to take treasures
· CLAS dean's office will re-box all unclaimed office supplies on May 8th and facilities will pick up and put in their off-campus storage facilities
· Items should be office type supplies, no large pieces of equipment.
· Only working items
· One person's trash is another person's treasure
· Remember to come back on May 6 to shop!
Attached is a flyer for you to use to advertise to your faculty and staff. Even if you don't want to bring items, stop by and shop on May 6.
Thanks for assisting in making GVSU a sustainable university!
3) New Faculty/Staff Computers
Heather Hardy has asked me to remind you that they are not accepting these orders until July 1, which is the beginning of the new fiscal year.
4) CLAS Sabbatical Showcase and Spring Celebration, April 18
Please extend a special invitation to all of your faculty, especially your new faculty, to attend the CLAS Sabbatical Showcase and Spring Celebration on Friday afternoon, 1-4 in 250KC. The food will be good, the spirits will be high, and the professional development that might ensue from seeing the range of work from their colleagues might inspire their scholarship.
Friday is a day in between the end of instruction and the beginning of exams. So the Showcase is an important community opportunity to take a moment and celebrate together what we have accomplished. Please say a word or two of encouragement to your colleagues to invite them to this happy event.
