5. Student Scholarship Information – Monica Johnstone
We've noted an increase in the number of parents and students searching websites for scholarship information. When they have trouble with some aspect of it (for instance, can't find the deadline), they contact the Dean's Office. Some departments have recently upgraded their online scholarship information. Hats off to them! I strongly recommend that all departments review what they have on their websites about departmental scholarships and make any needed adjustments.
~ Monica
6. Auditors (attachment) - Mary Schutten
Faculty advisors often must contact academic auditors regarding course substitutions or graduation audits. Attached is the most current list of auditors, please share with your advisors for their use.

8. Increase Demand for Media Production – message from Tony Thompson
I have started a conversation between the School of Communications and other non-academic units at GVSU about the increasing demand for media productions, from both on and off campus. As you know, we get several requests each week to have students create videos and other kinds of media products. NIS, IT, WGVU, and Event Services all receive requests, from promotional videos to recording guest speakers, etc. I have spoken with some of these groups on campus, and with Jon Jellema, and would like to assemble a larger group to discuss the issue further with Jon.
It would be helpful to know some information from the units in CLAS in advance of this meeting.
We'd like to know:
1) What kind of requests to produce media, if any, other units receive.
2) What kinds of projects units have had done recently (Projects such as edited video presentations, teaching materials, promotional videos, recorded guest lectures, etc.) whether the project was done in house by faculty/staff/students, or by a professional vendor, whether these were then put on a website or not, and if available, the approximate cost of the production.
3) If they anticipate doing a project in the near future, and if so, what kind and for what purpose.
4) What a unit would consider doing if a project could be done internally (at GVSU) for a reasonable cost.
Send your responses directly to Tony via email – thompsoa@gvsu.edu
Thank you,
~Tony
