1) Distinguished Alumni-In-Residence – deadline extended to Sept 12
Attention for the following departments identified as 2008 Distinguished Alumni-in-Residence participants:
Good news . . . it’s not too late for your department to participate in this year’s CLAS Distinguished Alumni-in-Residence Program! The deadline for you to submit your honoree information to the Dean’s Office has just been extended from August 29 to September 12. To make it even easier for you, the electronic form that you need to use can be accessed from our CLAS website or directly here. Biographies must be submitted by Monday, September 22 at http://gvsu.edu/clas/index.cfm?action=home.dar_page1 . If you haven’t already selected an honoree and wish to do so, you need to hustle now to make that selection, confirm with your honoree, and begin making travel arrangements.
Additional information about the CLAS Distinguished Alumni-in-Residence Program can be found in the attached document “CLAS Alumni-in-Residence Program”.
2) International Faculty and Friends Program for 2008-09
I have been working with a team of faculty and staff to organize the International Faculty and Friends Program for 2008-09. As you can see on the attached flyer, there will be monthly events with an international flavor to bring faculty together. I am requesting that you inform the faculty in your college about this program, especially our opening reception that will be at 3:30 on Thursday, September 4 at the Alumni House.
