Unit Head and Faculty Weekly Mailing 5-14-13
For Unit Heads
It's time for our 2nd Annual CLAS on the Green. This golf scramble will be held at The Meadows on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 19, with all net proceeds going toward the newly created CLAS Student Scholarship Fund. As you might expect , the planning committee is in need of several volunteers to run the registration table and a variety of events throughout the day. Volunteering is a wonderful way for non-golfers to play a vital role in the success of CLAS on the Green. So if you're not playing, if you can afford to give an afternoon of your time on June 19 and if you would like to help fund the CLAS Student Scholarship Fund, please consider joining your colleagues by volunteering for CLAS on the Green-if you have interest in serving as a volunteer, please contact Monica Johnstone via email at email@example.com. Thank you in advance for your time and support of our students.
As one semester draws to a close, plans for the next semester are beginning. Creating a syllabus is one of those beginnings. In the latest email from the PEW FTLC, there is an excellent page of information for developing a syllabus that also includes sample policy statements that could prove useful. In particular, students are increasingly focusing on syllabus content related to grading scales, disability support, and academic integrity so it is highly recommended to clearly address these in all course syllabi.
