For Unit Heads
The Fulbright-Hays Faculty Research Abroad (FRA) Fellowship Program will not have a competition this year. Please visit their website in the fall of 2012 for information about a competition in FY 2013.
Faculty - I am writing to remind you that the Student Veterans Writing Workshop (with the assistance of the Writing Center) is opening its second semester. I invite you to alert your students about the information below: Student Veterans Writing Workshop Info Happy New Year. Welcome back from the holiday break. We're opening this semester with some planning meetings to organize the workshops for this semester. To help us set up the workshops, come to one of the meetings below prepared to share your schedule and writing due dates. For example, if you have a paper due in week six, you might plan to meet with us in week five, and we can work around your schedule. We will work with you on any writing project (class papers, personal statements, cover letters, etc.), at any stage of your writing process. We can work with you to brainstorm ideas, organize content, integrate research, polish a draft, and correctly document sources. Monday, January 16 KC RM 0042 5:00 PM - 5:50 PM Student Veterans Writing Workshop Tuesday, January 17 KC RM 0042 10:00 AM - 10:50 AM Student Veterans Writing Workshop Wednesday, January 25 KC RM 0042 12:00 PM - 12:50 PM Student Veterans Writing Workshop Thursday, January 26 KC RM 0042 2:00 PM - 2:50 PM Student Veterans Writing Workshop

The AAC&U is offering a free LEAP Day Webinar, "Employers Speak on a Liberal Education" on February 29th. The webinar is open to all faculty (and administrators) and will be streamed to campus.
We encourage faculty and staff who might be interested to attend. The event is a good opportunity for people to learn how absolutely relevant our curriculum and core values are to our students and to the community, as well as help us articulate our contribution to non-academics. http://www.aacu.org/blast/2012/leapdaywebinar.cfm to view details.
