5. CUR Quarterly Call for Submissions (Fall 2012 issue), "Students as UR Change Agents"
The theme of the Fall 2012 CUR Quarterly will be 'Students as UR Change Agents.' We seek 4 or 5 authors who can write articles that focus on how students' demand for, views about, and experiences in UR have resulted in lasting changes in institutional policies and practices. We encourage articles that explore, among other things:
- How the results of student research projects on teaching and learning within disciplines have been used by their institutions when revising curricula or pedagogy;
- How student voices / input have shaped undergraduate research programs or institutional policies that support them;
- How institutions have structured opportunities for students, through research, to explore and offer solutions to defined institutional issues; and
- How mentors of UR have been influenced to change their practices because of what they have learned from their students.
If you are interested in contributing an article or vignette, please submit a short (300-500 word) prospectus describing the focus of your proposed article or vignette online at http://cur.networkats.com/members_online/submissions/substart.asp?action=welcome&cid=99 by October 15, 2011. Decisions on invitations for full papers will be made by November 1.
Final articles will be about 2500 to 3000 words in length. The final text for review and editing must be submitted by December 15, 2011. Deadlines
October 15, 2011 Short (500 words) prospectus of proposed article or vignette submitted online.
December 15, 2011 Final text for review and editing submitted to Kelly McConnaughay and Janet Stocks.
