CLAS Staff Roundtables
CLAS Staff Roundtables are an annual event providing an opportunity for staff to share and exchange ideas on a variety of topics that are relevant and of interest to staff.
At this event, there are three roundtables on the following topics with one or more facilitator at each table. You are invited to attend one or both sessions, based on your availability. Please sign up for a roundtable topic for the first session and a different one for the second session.

Topics for Staff Roundtables:
Facilitators: Tracy McLenithan and Michelle Duram
Office Transitions: Mentoring and Procedure Manuals
This roundtable will consider how to manage office transitions. Do new Professional Support Staff need additional training? How might new PSS be mentored? What can offices do to ensure a smooth transition when new staff members come into a unit? Participants at this roundtable will also discuss how to put together and maintain office procedure manuals.

Organizing Events on Campus
Organizing an event on campus requires not only a working understanding of university procedures and customs but also a knowledge of who to call on campus to get things done. Experienced event organizers will lead discussion on best practices.

Helping and Referring Distressed Students
Professional Support Staff are often on the frontline when distressed students come into an office. Participants at this roundtable will talk about how one should deal with these students and what resources are available for them.
