FirearmsDan Karnes, retired Sergeant from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office, is a 30 year law enforcement veteran. He has been the police academy’s Lead Firearms Instructor since 2004. Sgt. Karnes holds several firearms related certifications and has extensive experience supervising firearms training facilities and operations. Additionally, Sgt. Karnes is active in the development and implementation of numerous in-service law enforcement related training courses – Instructor Development, First Line Supervision, Anti-Terrorism Awareness, and Weapons of Mass Destruction. He has held the position of Police Academy Assistant Director, Director of Training for the Deputy Sheriff’s Association, and Project Facilitator for the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command. |
