Retired Chief of Police Ed Edwardson is originally from Detroit, Michigan. He completed his undergraduate degree at Albion College receiving a B.A. degree in History, with a minor in English. He then completed his M.A. degree in Administration and Community Leadership at Central Michigan University.
In addition to his academic degrees, Chief Edwardson is a graduate of the FBI Academy Law Enforcement Executive Development Program and the Police Executive Research Forum Senior Management Institute. He began his law enforcement career as a police officer and detective for the Albion Police Department. Additionally, he served as Assistant Chief of Police for Big Rapids, Mi., Chief of Police for Sault Ste Marie, Mi., Commissioner of Police for Warren, Mi., Chief of Public Safety for Kalamazoo, Mi., and retired as Chief of Police for the City of Wyoming, Mi., in 2006.
Chief Edwardson was awarded life membership in both the Michigan and International Associations of Chiefs of Police upon his retirement and serves on the Board of Directors of Fight Crime Invest in Kids Michigan.
