Ryan founded Magnum Engineering while completing his undergraduate education in electrical, mechanical, and product design and manufacturing engineering from Grand Valley State University in 2007.
Since the beginning Magnum has been able to move quickly and adapt to a changing marketplace. The original business plan portrayed Magnum as an acoustic loudspeaker design and development firm. Identifying an opportunity, they purchased loudspeaker production equipment from a local company and began building the necessary tools to compete in that industry. However, with a changing economy and a risky new business, a change in business model was necessary to ensure future success.
While not giving up on acoustic designs, Ryan and his team realized that there was a large untapped market of local inventors needing assistance getting product to market. With formal training in new product development and no fear of risk, Magnum opened the doors to working with individuals to develop their ideas.
This model, their second attempt at a successful business model, has gotten legs and grown, bringing Magnum Engineering along with it.
