Bootstraps and Crowds: Alternative Finance
The types of financing available for early and seed-stage startups have expanded in the last few years. This session will include a discussion of crowdfunding, bootstrapping rewards crowdfunding, equity crowdfunding, micro lending and other methods used to raise the capital to get off the ground
Speaker: Thomas Coke, Founder and CEO at CampusStarter
Thomas is a former securities regulator now delving into the private
sector and serving as a go-to source for crowdfunding and the JOBS Act
and how small businesses will be able to harness the new rules to
raise capital. In addition, he is a lawyer with experience running his
own firm, a certified mediator and a public speaker.
