School of Social Work - Pre-Candidacy Review (Not Yet)

Greetings!

Due to the fact that your major is declared as Social Work and you have earned more than 45 credits, the College of Education and Community Innovation Undergraduate Advising Center has reviewed your academic record to gauge the likelihood of your admission into the School of Social Work’s Bachelor of Social Work program for Fall 2015.

Our review of your academic progress indicates that your admission status is: NOT YET

What does this mean?

Based on the information available to the CECI-UAC at the time of review, it appears that you are missing more requirements than can be completed prior to Fall 2015.

This review takes into consideration your coursework for Winter 2015 and assumes that you will successfully complete all of your currently in-progress work (including minimum grades, if applicable) and will maintain a 2.500 minimum cumulative GPA; if you do not successfully complete your Winter 2015 courses or do not have a 2.500 cumulative GPA after this semester, you should contact your academic advisor to discuss your status for Fall admission.

Your potential next steps…

  1. If you are a transfer student, make sure you review your record to make sure that ALL of your transfer work is on file at GVSU.
    1. If you believe there is work missing you should contact your former institution to request a new official transcript be sent to GVSU Records, 1 Campus Drive, Allendale, MI 49401 for processing.
    2. Schedule an appointment with an academic advisor who will be able to confirm your plan and guide you through what classes to register for.
    3. You will not be able register online without meeting the pre-requisite requirements.
  2. If you already have an academic plan and/or other transfer work that will satisfy all of the remaining requirements prior to Fall 2015…
    1. Schedule an appointment with an academic advisor who will be able to confirm your plan and guide you through what classes to register for.
