Advanced Registration Begins March 18th - Emails Sent to all CCPS Students
Date: February 28, 2014
It’s that time of year again! Undergraduate Advanced Registration for the 2014-2015 academic year begins on March 18, 2014. We sent you a message a couple of weeks ago about how to prepare for the advanced registration period. If you are planning to enroll for the upcoming year, we’ve pulled together a lot of information and provided an overview of the process here: http://www.gvsu.edu/ccpsadvising/registration and http://www.gvsu.edu/ccpsadvising/prepare2reg(If you are graduating or not planning to enroll, ignore this message)
Schedule of Courses Now Available
We wanted to let you know that you can view the schedule of courses being offered for the upcoming year on March 1st 2014. The schedule will be “view only” until your registration day. Log into myBanner and click on Registration…Search for Classes…Select Term (Spring/Summer 2014, Fall 2014, or Winter 2015). There is a new advanced search function which allows you to search by any general education attributes to find courses that meet specific general education requirements. More information about this process can be found on our registration information website linked above.
Academic Advising is by Appointment Only – Call to schedule
If you would like to review your remaining requirements or set up an academic plan with your academic advisor in the College of Community & Public Service Undergraduate Advising Center, we encourage you to set up an appointment as soon as possible. Appointments are on a first available basis, so do not delay, or you may not have a planning appointment prior to your registration day. Are you ready to make an appointment? Please call 616-331-6890 to schedule an available time that works for you or stop into our main office located in 218C DeVos Center on the Pew Campus. We do NOT schedule appointments via email. Appointments are available at our downtown location or on a very limited basis at our Allendale satellite location depending on availability. Our office is open 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday thru Thursday and 8:30am-5:00pm on Friday to receive your call. During spring break week our office will be open 8:30am-5:00pm all week.
Have a Quick Question?
If you have already met with an advisor recently or have a “quick question” that would not require a full advising appointment you may take advantage of Express Advising sessions that will be held on two Saturdays in March. More information on our registration information link above.
* If you are on academic probation or jeopardy of dismissal you will receive a separate email regarding what you will need to do during the registration period specific to your situation. You can review that information here: http://www.gvsu.edu/ccpsadvising/advhold
*Social Work Majors with 45 or more credits, who may be seeking candidacy in the Fall 2014 will receive a separate communication from the CCPS Undergraduate Advising Center regarding your status and eligibility. Please check your email box on February 28th for that message so you do not experience registration delays!
*If there is a class that you need permission to enter, such as an internship, permission can be granted now (after March 1st)– you do not have to wait until your day to register! In fact if you act now you could have everything in order before your day to register! To submit a request for permission review the instructions and submit the form here: http://www.gvsu.edu/ccpsadvising/overrides
