Rules & Requirements

  • The CCPS-STAR program is only open to students designated as "first time in college" who have declared a CCPS undergraduate major (transfer students are not eligible for this program) and have a valid GVSU student email address.
  • Eligible students must actively join the CCPS-STAR program by signing up through this site and accept that they may receive targeted messages regarding this program via email throughout the year.
  • Eligibility for this program will be verified with a review of the student's admission status before a student is fully entered into the program 
  • Signing up for this program provides ONE entry into the drawing at the end of the year for prizes, including an iPad mini
  • Additional entries can be earned by participating in activities throughout the year that will be posted on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram - it's the student's responsibility to check for these activities by connecting with the CCPS Undergraduate Advising Center through any/all of these platforms if the student chooses. Events and activities will include things found on the Blueprint for Student Success that are recommended for first year students to participate in.

  • The student may opt out at any time (2 ways)
    • Retain Current Entries - if the student wishes to retain the entries earned at the time of opting out, simply do not participate in additional activities on the social media sites and previously earned entries will remain in the system
    • Remove Current Entries - if the student wishes to no longer receive any communication or be eligible for prizes - send an email to and provide name, email address, with an appropriate message to indicate you wish to be removed from the program
  • Prize Drawing will be held on April 15, 2016 at 12:00pm. At the time of the drawing, students must still be CCPS majors and be enrolled for Fall 2016 classes. Students will be notified via email of any prizes won. Prizes must be picked up by April 29, 2016 at 5pm. Prizes will not be shipped or held beyond the deadline. Any prize not claimed by the deadline will be forfeited.
