GVSU Offers Continuing Ed Opportunity in Ireland

This year the GVSU School of Social Work piloted the first international Continuing Education offering through GVSU to Social Workers in Michigan. Social Work professor Joan Borst, who has lead 18 groups of GVSU students studying abroad in Ireland, designed a curriculum meeting all of the requirements of Michigan's continuing education requirements for social work and led the first group through the country. With the assistance of professor Jamie Langlois, the curriculum met the rigorous standards to meet all of the State requirements for professionals to renew their license every four years. This course offers a great opportunity for community engagement with GVSU alumni and with social workers in Michigan.
