The College of Community and Public Service (CCPS) was established in 2004. It combined five preexisting units of the university, all of which had strong community connections and a professional focus. The first CCPS Dean was Dr. Rod Mulder, who had been Dean of the School of Social Work. In 2008, Dean Mulder was succeeded by Dr. George Grant, Jr.
