MLS 374 - Clinical Microbiology I

A study of the structure, function and diagnostic characteristics of clinically significant parasites, fungi and select bacteria. A focus will be placed on workflow and the role microbiology plays in patient outcomes, including discussion of pathogenicity, transmission and control of microbes, along with related host response. Offered winter semester. Prerequisite: Admission to the medical laboratory science (MLS) program. Corequisite: MLS 375.
