About the Building

The L. William Seidman Center, which we now can call our home, is a total gross area of 127, 643 square feet. The building is ADA accessible and we are proud to claim that it is L.E.E.D. Gold certified!

First Floor

The J.C. Huizenga Exchange, Student Advising Services, Student Outreach Centers, and the Charles W. Loosemore Forum

An impressive glass entrance to the building opens the door to endless opportunities for students and visitors in this mixed-use space. Student advising areas blend with multiple study areas and student organization space, while six outreach centers serve to connect the business and university communities. A multi-purpose room supports a variety of programs designed to enhance learning and community interaction. Donors are recognized near the entrance, and the achievements of L. William "Bill" Seidman are showcased in a display in the Exchange.

Second Floor

15 classrooms and 15 team rooms, and The Gary L. Tilkin Financial Markets Center

The busy second floor will be filled with students and professors using the 15 classrooms and 15 team rooms located there. Special team rooms, which can be scheduled by smart devices, allow students to work in small groups. Cluster Classrooms foster collaborative learning environments, while the Case Classrooms are arranged in tiers for efficient instruction. Two computer labs provide hands-on training on enterprise software, while a state-of-the-art Trading Room boasting seven Bloomberg trading software terminals provides a unique learning environment. A graduate student lounge provides an area for quiet study space.

Third Floor

Faculty Offices, The Dean's Suite

The third floor is home to the Seidman faculty. Placing all faculty offices together on the same floor promotes collegiality and cross-disciplinary innovation, while encouraging and supporting informal interaction and communication. As with each of the other floors, this floor includes spectacular views of the city skyline from many angles.

Fourth Floor

The Richard and Helen DeVos Board Room

The fourth floor is designated for planning and innovation, with a spacious board room that is the jewel of the Seidman Center. The college's advisory boards, including members of the West Michigan business community, as well as academic departments and committees will find this space conducive to strategic thinking and envisioning the future. Floor-to-ceiling windows, hand-crafted brass lighting fixtures and a large board table with seating for 30 guests all give the room a timeless elegance.
