L. William Seidman
L. William Seidman, founding chair of Grand Valley's Board of Trustees, died May 13, 2009 at the age of 88. Seidman was one of the founders of Grand Valley State University, helping galvanize local support for the establishment of a public four-year university in West Michigan.

Richard M. DeVos Center
The Richard M. DeVos Center is an expansion of GVSU's Grand Rapids campus, which began with the L.V. Eberhard Center just across the expressway on the banks of the Grand River downtown. Grand Valley's downtown campus consists of a 15-acre site including The Seidman College of Business, 12 graduate degree programs, an International Trade Institute, a new graduate library, and a technology center.
