New Seidman Center
Grand Valley broke ground for the Seidman Center on May 25, 2011 and opened May 2013. Construction of the Seidman Center is a major investment in the downtown Grand Rapids riverfront area. The Seidman Center offers state-of-the-art collaboration spaces and technology to better support the integrated college curriculum, and provide a ‘front door’ to West Michigan businesses.

GVSU study aims to examine the need of family-owned businesses

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - A new study by two West Michigan universities aims to find out just how many family owned businesses are located in West Michigan and what their companies need to thrive.
Grand Valley State University and Western Michigan University are surveying about 12,000 businesses in 28 Michigan counties to find out whether they are family owned. If the business identifies as family owned, researchers plan on sending a follow-up survey, examining everything from its size and management structure, to what kind of issues it struggles with.
