Check out inside of GVSU's new $40 mil business center in GR
Date: December 11, 2012
GRAND RAPIDS, MI -- Inside the newest addition to Grand Valley State University’s campus in downtown Grand Rapids, what promises to be an innovative center for academics and community outreach is taking shape.
A tour of the L. William Seidman Center, the new home of the university’s Seidman College of Business, provided Monday, Dec. 10, showed that some of the features that promise to make the building a standout for GVSU are well on their way to completion.
Among them: a “state-of-the-art” financial markets trading room, a multi-purpose room capable of accommodating 200 people for lectures and other events, and 15 “break-out team rooms,” which are aimed at enhancing student interaction and development.

The building, which is 110,000-square-feet and Silver LEED certified, is expected to open in May. Its price tag is pegged at $40 million.
In addition to GVSU’s business school, the Seidman Center will house the university’s Small Business Technology and Development Center and Van Andel Global Trade Center.
Those entities are key to the Seidman College’s mission of providing business consulting, community outreach and job creation, the university said.
