L. William Seidman
L. William Seidman, founding chair of Grand Valley's Board of Trustees, died May 13, 2009 at the age of 88. Seidman was one of the founders of Grand Valley State University, helping galvanize local support for the establishment of a public four-year university in West Michigan.

Brian Calley is the second youngest lieutenant governor in Michigan's history and part of Governor Rick Snyder's transformation team. The Seidman College of Business is pleased to welcome an alum to our stage.
Before being elected to his current position, Calley served two terms in the Michigan Legislature as a state representative. During this time he served as minority vice chair of the House Tax Policy Committee where he worked with lawmakers from both sides of the aisle.
The breakfast event is in the Loosemore Auditorium of the DeVos Center on Grand Valley's Pew Grand Rapids Campus, 401 Fulton St. West. Breakfast begins at 7:15 a.m. and the presentation will start at 7:50 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.
