The Frederik Meijer Lecture series has been established to provide local and national presentations that focus on issues of leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship from the perspective of students, faculty members, and participants in business throughout the region.
Speaker: Mike Jandernoa
Topic: "Passion for Entrepreneurship"
Biography: After graduating from the University of Michigan, Mike spent a short time in public accounting before joining Perrigo in 1979. He joined the Perrigo Board in 1981 and became CEO in 1988.. Mike now serves as Perrigo’s Lead Independent Director. During his time at Perrigo, Mike took the company from a privately held $30 million company to a $2.5 billion publicly traded firm that dominates the over-the-counter drug business.
Currently, Mike is a general partner of Bridge Street Capital Fund 1, LP; a director of Fifth Third Bank – West Michigan, a Michigan banking corporation; and a director of Steelcase, Inc., a manufacturer of case good products and furniture systems for the office furniture industry. Mike also serves on the boards of the Michigan Technology Tri-Corridor (formerly Life Science Corridor) and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
Mike’s desire to help entrepreneurs grow their companies faster and stronger led him to found JEM. He wants to help entrepreneurs understand the markets they are in and know where the risks lie.
