2012 - Careers In Management Event
A big thank you goes out to all those who helped make the 2nd Annual Careers in Management Night a success!
Description:
The Seidman College of Business - Management Department and Career Services at Grand Valley State University along with the student chapters of SHRM and SAM, hosted a careers in management event on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 4:30 to 7:00pm.
GVSU students were exposed to business professionals in the areas of Operations Management, Human Resources, Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Personnel from several local companies discussed the necessary skills and experiences required to be successful in these exciting fields.
A keynote presentation titled: "Making a transition from student to colleague...it's a journey," (click to watch video) was presented by Laura Davis, Director of Talent Acquisition & Employee Engagement at Amway and a panel comprised of corporate partners from Amway, Gordon Food Service, Herman Miller, Meijer, Spectrum Health and Wolverine Worldwide (click to watch video) was assembled that shared key thoughts on the industries represented.
Interested students were encouraged to attend the presentations in the Loosemore Auditorium and to later network with the panel speakers as well as additional corporate partners at tables set up in the lobby area.
