Seidman Financial Planning Courses are Approved for Continuing Education Credits by Michgan's OFIS. While the primary purpose of our program is CFP examination preparation, our courses are also registered with Michigan's Office of Financial and Insurance Services (OFIS), and we will report your hours for credit unless you sign a waiver. Note that as of February 1, 2006, the State requires all Michigan licensed agents and solicitors to earn 24 hours of State-approved education credit every two years, three of which need to be in ethics. Each of our courses provides 30 hours of continuing education credit. Beginning with our Winter 2008 semester, FPC 300, Principles of Financial Planning, has been approved by OFIS to meet the ethics credit hour requirement. Also note that, under State of Michigan continuing education rules, you cannot receive CE credits if you miss part of any class. The state of Michigan no longer requires a breakdown for Life/Health or Property/Casualty. The 21 credits remaining after the 3 credit ethics requirement can be in whichever line of authority you choose. |
