Generating the Golden Idea

Sometimes it comes to you in a dream.  Other times you have to create it on your own.  If you know you want to start a business, but don't know what that business might be, keep an eye on your dreams, but don't stop with that.

While some lucky entrepreneurs do get a flash of inspiration that sets them on the path to success, others need to hunt for the right idea. In fact, talk to serial entrepreneurs about how they come up with new business concepts, and you'll find they often have a well-structured methodology for coming up with great ideas.
So don't sweat it if you haven't been struck by a bolt of inspiration.  Just get to work.  After all, 4-out-of-5 Dentists recommend well conceptualized ideas resulting from a methodology like the one above.
