L. William Seidman
L. William Seidman, founding chair of Grand Valley's Board of Trustees, died May 13, 2009 at the age of 88. Seidman was one of the founders of Grand Valley State University, helping galvanize local support for the establishment of a public four-year university in West Michigan.

Our undergraduate programs focus on student success in class and in building careers, by providing majors in ten emphasis areas; internship opportunities with many different local organizations as well as national and international companies; international study opportunities to enhance diversity and expand global business knowledge; extensive resources for post-graduation employment; classes are offered on all four Greater Grand Rapids area campuses: Allendale, Grand Rapids, Holland, and Muskegon. You will be taught by a faculty with a focus on teaching in a favorable 28 to 1 student-to-faculty ratio environment that ensures quality instruction.
The Seidman Master of Business Administration (MBA) is connected to the growing area business community, the nation, and around the globe, ensuring current and relevant classes leading to a higher return on your investment. You set the pace depending on your needs at home and at work. Depending on your desire to move rapidly through the program, you may be able to complete your course work in as few as 16 months with no background courses. Avail yourself of Seidman's well-known service to its active, busy students. Classes are offered on our campuses in downtown Grand Rapids and Holland.
The Seidman Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) is a specialized program designed for individuals preparing for careers in public, industrial, and non-profit accounting, including students with limited undergraduate accounting courses. It meets the educational requirements to sit for the Michigan CPA exam. The program accommodates student interests and ambitions through a wide selection of electives and can be completed with part-time or full-time study.
The Seidman Master of Science in Taxation (MST) provides opportunities for career advancement. Seidman MST graduates have the equivalent of three to five years of valuable tax experience, making them highly sought after. Your investment in the MST will open up positions in public accounting firms, industry, and the IRS. Classes are offered on the downtown Grand Rapids campus.
Local, national and international companies engage the Seidman faculty in consulting services because more than 90% hold doctoral degrees and their research appears in leading business journals, magazines, seminars and trade publications. Faculty in business look to the future when they teach business, provide assistance, and develop research.
Committed to serving the needs of the business community by providing information services, the Small Business & Technology Development Center, customized research, and no cost one time business counseling. Support is also provided through seminars and by programs based in the Centers for Business Ethics, Entrepreneurship, and Family Business.
