Richard H. Giles Memorial Scholarship
Richard H. Giles Memorial Scholarships are awarded to full-time (averaging 9 credit hours or more per semester) graduate degree-seeking students who show promise of making outstanding contributions in the field of public accounting. Recipients are expected to graduate after 2012 and demonstrate good scholarship, interpersonal skills, and continued involvement in the business community. Recipients will receive up to $4,000 ($2,000 per semester) towards tuition & fees.
GVSU Accounting Alumni Scholarship
BDO USA International Accounting Scholarship
BDO USA views the study abroad experience as a valuable tool for students to prepare themselves for an increasingly international business environment. When viewing candidates for our international scholarship, we look for an accounting major with a GPA of 3.2 or higher and a well-rounded curriculum. We look for students who express a desire to broaden their perspective of other cultures and how organizations within those cultures function. The amount of this scholarship is $1,000.
Becker CPA Course Scholarship
Crowe Horwath, LLP Outstanding Accounting Student Scholarship
Ernst & Young Accounting Senior Excellence Award is given to a senior accounting major preparing for graduate studies who exhibits leadership skills and good scholastic ability. The amount of this scholarship is $1,000.
Hungerford, Aldrin, Nichols & Carter Accounting Scholarship
Hungerford, Aldrin, Nichols & Carter established a scholarship for undergraduate GVSU accounting students. To be eligible, students must be enrolled full-time and have an interest in a career in public accounting in West Michigan. Recipients are expected to graduate after 2012 and demonstrate good scholarship, interpersonal skills, and continued involvement in the business community. Recipients receive up to $2,000 ($1,000 per semester) towards tuition and fees.
Plante & Moran Accounting Scholarship
Plante Moran established a scholarship for undergraduate GVSU accounting students. To be eligible, students must be enrolled full-time and have an interest in a career in public accounting. Recipients are expected to graduate after 2011 and demonstrate good scholarship, interpersonal skills, and continued involvement in the community. Recipients receive $1,000 ($500 per semester) toward tuition and fees.
Tax Executives Institute Accounting/Tax Scholarship
The West Michigan Chapter of the Tax Executives Institute (TEI) established a scholarship for GVSU accounting students with an interest in tax. To be eligible, students must not be currently affiliated with a CPA firm. Scholarships will be awarded to students currently in or entering the MST program. Recipients are expected to graduate after 2012 and demonstrate good scholarship, interpersonal skills, and continued involvement in the business community. Recipients will receive up to $2,000 ($1,000 per semester) towards tuition for graduate tax courses.
