Why should I choose the Seidman Accelerated Full-Time Integrated MBA (FIMBA) program?
As a Full-Time Integrated MBA student, you'll earn while you learn. You'll gain access to an 11-month paid fellowship and a curriculum that is accredited, accelerated and affordable. You and your Full-Time Integrated MBA classmates will travel to Washington, DC as well as overseas, where you'll develop a knowledge of policy issues and global strategy. Best of all, these travel opportunities are included as part of the tuition. FIMBA allows you the unique opportunity to build on your undergraduate business degree and accelerate your career. Nowhere else in West Michigan or the region will you find a program that comes close to matching the opportunities available to you through FIMBA.
As a member of the Full-Time Integrated MBA cohort, you'll learn from high-caliber faculty and benefit from the Seidman College's unique role within the community. What are the prerequisites for the program?
To be admitted to the Accelerated Full-Time Integrated MBA program, students must have completed an undergraduate program with a business major. For individual questions, contact the Seidman Graduate Programs office at 616-331-7400 or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do I have to take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)?
The GMAT is the best single predictor of success in graduate business programs. Therefore, the GMAT is an admission requirement for the Full-Time Integrated MBA program. Admission to the program is competitive based on GPA and GMAT.
How is fellowship placement determined?
The Seidman Graduate Programs Office and Career Services Ofice provide fellowship opportunities for FIMBA candidates. In a secure process, partner organizations review the resumes of preliminarily admitted students, and select individuals for interview. Organizations make offers directly to students for a fellowship. Each FIMBA student must secure a fellowship prior to full admission to the program.
When should I apply?
The Full-Time Integrated MBA program starts each June and the final application deadline is February 15th. Applications received by November 15, will be reviewed and qualified candidates will be interviewed in December for an early admit decision.
Where will I live? Can I live on campus?
Full-Time Integrated MBA students may live on campus in private or shared apartments where students can work together and collaborate outside of work and class hours.
What will the average class size be? What is the cohort size?
The Full-Time Integrated MBA cohort is no more than 30 students.
What are the specifications for the required laptop?
Full-Time Integrated MBA students are required to bring a laptop computer. To insure the compatibility of equipment, please note the required specifications:
PC preferred with Windows 7 operating system
Intel i5, 2.0 GHz minimum or equivalent
4 GB ram minimum
300 GB Hard Drive (recommend 7200)
internal web cam
built in audio (microphone and speakers)
recommended additional USB headset with microphone
What if I am an international student?
International students are encouraged to apply. The Seidman College values diversity and is pleased to recruit global talent to West Michigan. Admission requirements are available at www.gvsu.edu/admissions/international. In addition to other application requirements, a TOEFL score of 80 (IBT) is required of students whose first language is not English.
Are there scholarships and grants available?
Yes. The program has competitive scholarships that are awarded after the cohort is selected. Additional scholarships may be researched by the individual student.
Can I work another job?
The work and school demands of the Full-Time Integrated MBA program are significant. Students have neither the time nor flexibility to work outside their fellowship. One of the goals of the paid fellowship is to assist students with personal expenses.
