Seidman Mission

The Seidman College of Business provides a rigorous learning environment, with a student focus, a regional commitment, and a global perspective.


Seidman College is a dynamic growing business school located in the heart of the greater Grand Rapids business community. The nearly 70 full-time Ph.D. faculty are dedicated to helping our students and our business partners grow and prosper.

At Seidman, the focus is on the future. The changing technology of the 21st century is embraced in our classrooms. The faculty prepare our students for their place in the global business environment. You may be inquiring about us as an undergraduate or graduate student, or you may be one of the business leaders seeking the expertise of our faculty or our business resources.

L. William Seidman Center

Located on the banks of the Grand River and with scenic views of Grand Rapid's downtown economic hub, the new L. William Seidman Center expresses in brick and mortar the vision and mission for the program. Here is a true center for learning, a center for meeting, a center for expositions, seminars, and research -- a focal point for all the activities that make the region's companies run successfully and compete effectively in a global marketplace.

Legacy of Seidman Button

In establishing the Seidman College, Grand Valley intended to embody the philosophy, ideas, and spirit of Mr. Seidman and to provide a place to gain an education in business administration in West Michigan.

History Button

Through a generous gift provided by the Seidman Family Foundation, the F.E. Seidman Graduate College was formed in 1973. The undergraduate and graduate programs were merged into one School, the Seidman College, in 1979.
