The Black Faculty Staff Association creates a sense of community and a support network for Black employees within the Grand Valley State University community. The Association also serves in an advisory capacity to University administrators, faculty, staff, and students regarding the general welfare of all Black employees at Grand Valley State University.


About the BFSA:

Purpose

The Black Faculty and Staff Association (BFSA) is a medium through which Black employees at Grand Valley State University (GVSU) participate in shared governance. The Association’s purpose is to serve in an advisory capacity to University administrators, faculty, staff, and students regarding the general welfare of all Black employees at GVSU.

Mission

BFSA shall function primarily to define, represent, and advance the interests of Black employees at GVSU. BFSA functions to promote the professional and personal growth and development of Black employees. BFSA will also create a sense of community and a support network that nurtures Black employees as visible and viable contingency within the GVSU community.
