Recommended Background

A student interested in the biostatistics program must have strong quantitative skills. Prior undergraduate courses in mathematics, computer science, and statistics will be highly recommended upon entering the program. A first year graduate student in the biostatistics program is assumed to have prior knowledge in basic statistical methodology, and will be required to do statistical analysis using a statistical software program known as SAS. Life science courses such as Biology, Ecology, Genetics, Human Anatomy, Physiology, etc. may be helpful background knowledge for the program, but not required.
