Last Week (top)
Last week we had the week off. I hope that everyone had a great Thursday night!
This Week (top)
This week we will be visiting Beene Garter. They are a great local firm and this will be a great chance to hear more about the opportunities they have to offer as well as learn more about the firm itself. Beene Garter is located at 56 Grandville Ave SW and we will be walking. The dress is business casual and the groups will be the same as last time. Group 1 will be leaving from the Seidman lobby at 5:15 and Group 2 will be leaving from Seidman lobby at 6:15 p.m. Please be on time and make sure that you get counted for attendance upon arrival. Also if you have an conflicts for this meeting due to time or what group you are in please contact Shannon Griffiths at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you forgot what group you are in you can click here to find what group you are in.
E-Board Elections (top)
We will be holding e-board elections for positions opening up for this upcoming winter semester on October 30. Currently all the positions that are currently held by e-board members will be opening up. A list of these positions and there descriptions will be coming to you shortly in an e-mail. If you are interested in running for one of these positions please contact Kate Oliver email@example.com. E-board is a great way to get connected with Beta Alpha Psi and it is also a great resume builder. You will also get the chance to be apart of planning for the Regionals meeting this winter as well as attend.
Volunteer Opportunities (top)
There are two upcoming volunteer opportunities:
GVSU Make a Difference Day is October 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Check in will be at the Kirkoff Center in Allendale and in order to sign up for this event you need to go to this website. For this event please put down Beta Alpha Psi as your organization as this will be the way in which they know what group to put you in.
The second volunteer event we have coming up is GR’s Got Talent. This event will be on November 15 from 5-9 p.m. at the Wege Theater in Grand Rapids. If you would like to volunteer for this event please contact Karly Fraeyman or Janine Rosloniec at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Don’t forget you need to complete 10 hours of community service during the semester! If you have completed volunteer hours please report these to Kayla Blaskowski at email@example.com.
As a general reminder pledges get one skip (there may be some exceptions if you "joined after the first meeting) and members get two skips. Also, we are keeping an updated attendance list on the Beta website and if you were at a meeting but were not included in the attendance, then you will need to email Shannon within two weeks of the meeting to get it changed. If this is not done within two weeks it will remain an absence.
Also please be aware that if you are planning on missing a meeting or have an attendance conflict, you need to contact Shannon. Also, if you have to attend an office visit out of town or you have a mixer/pre-interview night before on campus interviews and it is on Thursday night you are able to attend that event without having the missed meeting count towards your skips for the semester. If you find yourself in this situation you will also need to contact Shannon. Her email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Study Tables (top)
BAP will be hosting weekly study tables in the Seidman Student Organization Center on the first floor of the Seidman building. It's a great, quiet place to study together with your BAP friends, especially with the limited seating in the building. Study Tables will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays this semester from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Look forward to seeing you there!
This week we have two birthdays! Happy Birthday to Greg Binder, 10/13, and Kate Oliver, 10/14. If you these Beta Members make sure to say Happy Birthday!
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. All you have to do is reply to this e-mail.
Have a great week!
