2015 Junior High Honors Band
ALL EVENTS HELD IN THE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER (PAC), GVSU ALLENDALE CAMPUS
Description: The mission of Grand Valley State University is the enrichment of society through excellent teaching, active scholarship, and public service. As part of that mission, the Department of Music and Dance is dedicated to the development of performance excellence in undergraduate and secondary school wind band performers.
This year, we are offering a middle school/junior high (grades 7-9) honors band to engage with a wider range of school-age musicians in our area. In future years, we will be offering a chamber music festival and then return to a high school honors band. Our conductors for the event will be our own GVSU faculty: Dr. John T. Martin and Dr. Kevin Tutt with masterclasses by GVSU faculty and advanced student performers.
Fee: $20 (covers cost of food)
If you need housing before or after this event, would recommend the following hotels: Comfort Suites – Grandville: (616) 667-0733
& Holiday Inn Express – Grandville: (616) 532-0202
