START is pleased to have Dr. Peter F. Gerhardt as the morning keynote presenter for our April 28, 2014 START Conference.  Dr. Gerhardt will share with us on “Evidence-based Education & Intervention for Adolescents and Adults with Autism.”

This presentation will provide an overview of effective transition programming, at any age, with the ultimate goal being a life of dignity, competence, & quality. To this end, an overview & practical suggestions for transition planning (including the use of existing technology) will be presented along with issues related to community based instruction, social competence, sexuality & sexual safety, & quality of life concerns.
