Q:  What time does the workshop begin and end?

A:  The Charter School Authorizer Workshop will begin with a Welcome Lunch 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 16th  and conclude at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday,September 17th.  Please visit our schedule page for more information.


Q:   What is the cost to register for the workshop?

A:   The cost to attend is $250 per person and includes two lunches, an evening cocktail and appetizer reception, snack breaks and ground-breaking discussion on the future of education in the pleasent confines of GVSU's Downtown Grand Rapids campus. 


Q:   What is the deadline to register for the workshop?

A:    The deadline to register is Friday, August 30th, 2013.

Q:  What is the attire for the workshop?

A:  Business casual.


Q:  Do you accept Purchase orders?

A:  No.


Q:  Where may I obtain your federal tax ID information for my accounting department?

A:  GVSU's Federal Tax ID number is 381684280.


Q:  Will I receive confirmation of my registration?

A:  A confirmation email will be sent directly to the address under which the registration was made.


Q:  When is payment due?

A:  Payment is due at the time of registration. Registration will not be considered complete until payment has been received in full.


Q:  Where can I request a receipt?

A:  A receipt will be emailed to you at the time you make your registration. To request another copy, please contact gvsucso@gvsu.edu.


Q:  How may I make changes to my registration?

A:  Please contact gvsucso@gvsu.edu or call at 616-331-2240. 


Q:  What if I need to cancel my registration?

A:  All cancellations must be made in writing. Please write gvsucso@gvsu.edu or fax your cancellation request to 616-331-2085.  Make sure to include the name the registration is under and the confirmation number.


Q:  May I send someone in my place if I cannot attend?

A:  Yes, however we need to have the transfer in writing. Please send an email to gvsucso@gvsu.edu.


Q:  What is the refund policy?

A:  Conference cancellation requests must be received in writing. Cancellations received June 15, 2013 through September 15, 2013 will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee (Email to vosburga@gvsu.edu or fax to 616-331-2085). No refunds will be given after September 15, 2013.


Q:  If I cancel my workshop registration will my hotel reservation be cancelled as well?

A:  No, hotel reservations are made independent of your workshop registration. To cancel your hotel reservation, please contact the hotel with which you made the reservation.


Q:  What is included with my registration?

A:  Your registration includes tuition, instructional materials, valuable networking opportunities, and food and beverages at the workshop.


Q:  Can I bring my family?

A:  Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult while at the workshop and must have their own registration. Children under the age of 13 are not allowed at the conference. However we encourage attendees to bring their families to enjoy all that Grand Rapids, MI has to offer. Art Prize begins the following week, so there will be a lot of activity around Grand Rapids for the entire family.

Q:  Are discounted rates available at local hotels?

A:  The Charter Schools Office has reserved a block of hotel rooms at special reduced rates for workshop attendees at the JW Marriot and Amway Grand Plaza.  Visit the hotel page for additional information.


Q:  Where is the closest airport?

A:  Grand Rapids, MI is serviced by the Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) .The airport is approximately 15 miles/20 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids, MI. Visit the travel and transportation page of the workshop website for more information.


Q:  What are the registration hours at the conference?

A:  The registration booth will be open from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 16th.
