The 2014 series "Global Cities" examines the conditions of modernity, postmodernity, and globalization through the lens of films, in which the featured cities Paris, Hamburg, Krakow, Istanbul, and Tehran provide case studies for the complex and enduring relationship between film and urbanism, and how changing urban geographies have impacted representations of the modern, global city and with that shaped the lives of humans.

The five feature films in this year's series are:
January 12 - Paris, je t'aime (France)
January 26 - Taste of Cherry (Iran)
February 9 - Im Juli (Germany / Turkey)
February 23 - The Double Life of Veronique (Poland/France)
March 9 - Lady in Paris (Estonia/ France)

Each event features a short film by a local filmmaker, an international feature film, a panel discussion with experts from colleges, universities and the community, and a social hour with international hors d'oeuvres.
