Description
The Music Department celebrates the bicentennial of the end of the War of 1812 and the new age of peace known as the "Era of Good Feelings" in America.

Reflecting the values of liberty and freedom so important to the country's citizens were three works by Beethoven: "The Ruins of Athens," Opus 113; "Christ on the Mount of Olives" with its rousing "Hallelujah" final chorus; and "Wellington's Victory."

West Michigan audiences can share the excitement and the music of the era in this performance by Grand Valley faculty members, students and guest artists. Concert followed by reception.

The six enriching events presented for Fall Arts Celebration 2012 are free and open to the public. Seats fill quickly; arrive early. For more information, visit www.gvsu.edu/fallarts, or call (616) 331-2180.
