Description
Karel Keldermans is one of the pre-eminent carillonneurs in North America. He recently retired as the full-time carillonneur for the Springfield Park District in Springfield, Illinois, where he also served as the Director of the renowned International Carillon Festival. In addition, Keldermans has been carillonneur for Concordia Seminary in St. Louis since 2000. He has given carillon concerts around the world for the past 35 years.
Keldermans has released six solo carillon CDs and one of carillon and guitar duets with Belgian guitarist Wim Brioen. He was President of The Guild of Carillonneurs in North America for five years and served on the Board of Directors for nine years. He and his wife, Linda, are recipients of the Berkely Medal for "distinguished service to the carillon art."
