Description
The nationally acclaimed GVSU New Music Ensemble joins the stage with Grammy winners eighth blackbird to present Terry Riley's classic score "In C." Special guest New York electronic musician Dennis DeSantis adds his other worldly sounds to this one-of-a-kind performance. Rising star composer Missy Mazzoli's "Still Life with Avalanche" will act as a curtain-raiser for Riley's piece. It is "a pile of melodies collapsing in a chaotic free fall," gives musical form to a torrent of powerful and unexpected emotions.
