Description
GVSU music composition students will create adventurous, one-minute compositions inspired by the Art Gallery 2014 ArtPrize installation, River Tattoo. These compositions will be played by the New Music Ensemble in rapid succession and judged by a guest panel and the listening audience for cash prizes. Featured guests are artist and creator of River Tattoo, Professor Jim Cogswell, who will give opening remarks and composer Paul Steinberg, who composed a new work that will be premiered.
