Echoes of the Ancient World: Adaptations of the Classical Tradition

In a collaborative effort between the Classics and Art History Departments, Professors Melissa Morison and Sigrid Danielson explored the continuation and influence of classical design throughout the centuries.


Sources and Resources: Works in Textiles and Metals
June 5 - September 22, 2006

The exhibition included art by Ann Baddeley Keister, Patricia Nelson, Anne McKenzie Nickolson, and Margaret Jo Morasco who work in textiles and metals. Each of these artist's work is informed by travel and collecting and references specific sources including fine and decorative European and American art as well as ethnographic objects.


19th Century Views of Egypt by David Roberts, On Loan from Erwin Raible, NY

A selection of 34 hand-colored prints by Scottish artist, David Robers (1796-1864) depicting scenes he encountered on his travels through Egypt. Held on the Red Wall Gallery in Lake Ontario Hall. Organized to compliment the Fall Arts Celebration exhibit, Ancient Sites Revisited: Watercolors of Egypt by Rana Chalabi.
