The GVSU Art Gallery collects, manages, exhibits, and interprets the University's art collection to foster experience learning and art engagement within the GVSU community. The Art Gallery promotes the idea of embracing art in order to improve one’s quality of life. Interaction with art can inform social discourse, encourage civic dialogue, foster creative and critical thought, and provide avenues for personal reflection.
The GVSU art collection consists of works of art from around the world spanning 1,600 years of history. It provides interdisciplinary opportunities for experience learning, curriculum integration, and informal learning experiences for students, faculty, staff, and the public. The entire collection may be viewed online at the Art Gallery's website or via the mobile application Art at GVSU.
