GVSU Art and Design

Graphic Design

Through the cultivation of ideas and exploration of conceptual and expressive methods, students in the design program at Grand Valley develop a personal visual language.

In their coursework, students are encouraged to coordinate typography, image, symbol, and color to communicate information, meaning, and thought provoking ideas. The design faculty conscientiously prepares majors for the realities of a design career through technological proficiency, analytical versatility, and practical experience necessary for the competitive and diverse opportunities that lay ahead of them. Our well equipped facilities allow design students to gain expertise in designing for print production and web environments.

After completing the foundations review, students complete a secondary admissions process for the Graphic Design program.

Students may pursue a BA, BS, or BFA in this studio emphasis.
