Computer Recommendations for incoming students
Admission to Grand Valley State University does not guarantee access or admission to the Department of Art and Design. All prospective students in studio and art education are required to submit a portfolio for review by the department. Once you have been admitted to the university, complete the freshman or transfer application. Follow the instructions carefully to ensure that your application is complete and materials arrive at the Calder Art Center office by your chosen portfolio deadline. A letter informing you of your Art and Design application status will be sent within two weeks of the portfolio evaluation.
Students pursuing the BA degree in art history do not need to submit an application to be admitted to the Department of Art and Design. To declare this major, fill out the Major Declaration Form in the departmental office in the Calder Art Center or at a summer orientation session.
