GVSU Art and Design
Admission to studio and art education programs at GVSU requires two steps. First, students apply to GVSU. Students should be admitted to GVSU before applying for admission to the department. After being accepted by GVSU, the university will provide you with a student G number that will be needed, along with your password, to apply online. Secondly, once accepted to the university, submit as application and portfolio for review by the Department of Art and Design. Students pursuing the BA degree in art history do not need to apply to the department. (To declare the Art History major, go to myBanner.)
Applying Online. Incoming freshman, transfer, and internal students may apply using the online application. See the Art and Design Admission Graph for more information and to determine your status: freshman, transfer, or internal student.
Required Application Materials. See the Required Application Materials Table to determine what materials are needed for applications submitted by: freshman, transfer, or internal students.
